Lab Coats vs. Suits: When Hospitals and Clinics Collide
You have seen it, maybe even lived it: Relations between a medical group and a hospital slowly turn sour or maybe even explode into a turf war. Hospitals and clinics have an interdependent relationship in providing services to their communities. These relationships are often cordial and productive but can become strained when the parties have competing economic interests or conflicting strategic objectives. Gail Brandt and Kit Friedemann will discuss the legal and accreditation standards that set the framework for governance, leadership and financial decisions under the heat of hot topics in hospital and medical staff relationships, including call, pay for call, ED coverage, inpatient coverage and continuity of care, employed physicians, hospitalists, referrals for follow-up care, ancillary services, economic credentialing and conflicts with competing ventures.
You will receive log-in information one day prior to the webinar. Following the webinar, all registrants will receive a CD of the presentation. We have applied for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for this program in Iowa and Minnesota. Please contact Terry Giel if you are an attorney licensed in another state and desire CLE credit. We have also applied for Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) credits. Webinar participants will be notified of accreditation upon program approval of CLE and HCCA credits (typically three or four weeks following the webinar).
A webinar is a seminar that is transmitted over the Internet. Both the audio and visual components (live PowerPoint presentation) are delivered through a secure connection. Participants will be able to ask questions during the webinar using the web site’s chat function.
