Fredrikson & Byron Hires New Associates


Minneapolis, MN March 4, 2010 – – Fredrikson & Byron has hired eight new associates, Pamela Abbate-Dattilo (Employment & Labor), Amber Brown (Securities), Sarah Gibbs (Bankruptcy), Lindsey Hemly (Environmental Law and Energy groups), Ted Koshiol (Intellectual Property Litigation), Andrew Nick (Securities), Kevin Riach (Litigation), and Laurel Steinmeyer (Corporate and Securities groups).

Abbate-Dattilo assists clients in a variety of non-compete/employment contract cases, as well as cases involving workers’ compensation, discrimination, compliance with the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and other areas of risk assessment and management. Abbate-Dattilo also has experience representing employers in the defense of employment-related actions, including wage and hour, personnel policies, FMLA, Title VII, Minnesota Human Rights Act, ADA, ADES, ERISA, OSHA, and NLRA.

Brown’s corporate and securities practice involves assisting clients with a wide range of corporate finance transactions, including all aspects of public and private offerings of securities, governance, as well as mergers and acquisitions.

Gibbs practices primarily in the areas of debtor/creditor law, bankruptcy, and complex commercial litigation. She assists clients reorganizing or liquidating under the Bankruptcy Code.

Hemly focuses her practice on environmental, regulatory, and renewable energy matters. She provides environmental, land use, and regulatory counsel to her clients and assists with the acquisition, development, financing, and permitting of wind and other renewable energy projects. Prior to joining the firm, Hemly worked as a legal intern for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Region 7 in Kansas City, KS.

Koshiol handles a variety of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret disputes. Koshiol has been involved with all aspects of litigation from pre-suit investigation to appellate review. He also has experience handling intellectual property matters in both state and federal court.

Nick focuses on advising publicly held companies on Securities and Exchange Commission reporting and compliance with regulatory obligations. He also assists publicly and privately held companies with private and public offerings of securities, corporate governance matters, mergers and acquisitions, and other general business issues.

Riach represents clients in civil, regulatory, and white collar criminal matters, with a focus on complex real estate and securities-related litigation.
Steinmeyer is an associate in Fredrikson & Byron’s Corporate and Securities groups. Her corporate and securities practice involves assisting clients with a wide range of corporate finance transactions, including all aspects of public and private offerings of securities, as well as mergers and acquisitions.
