Fredrikson & Byron Attorney Kevin Goodno Honored
by Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota

Minneapolis, MN October 28, 2010 – – The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota honored Kevin Goodno with the “Champion of Epilepsy Award” at its September board meeting. The award recognized his work in epilepsy advocacy and awareness. Goodno joined the Epilepsy Foundation Board of Directors in 2006 and is currently the board president.

“Kevin is an amazing man who has partnered with me the past several years to make the Epilepsy Foundation a great organization,” said Bennie Loro, Minnesota Epilepsy Foundation executive director. “He has truly made a difference in the lives of people with epilepsy.”

Working with current and past board members, Goodno helped create and orchestrate the foundation’s first Day at the Capital in 2007. Goodno also attended the National Epilepsy Foundation’s Public Policy Day in Washington, D.C, and has worked for legislation to stop epilepsy medication substitution. He has helped raise significant funds for the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota’s annual “Stroll for Epilepsy”.

Goodno is the chair of Fredrikson & Byron’s Government Relations practice. He has extensive experience in state and local government with particular focus on health care and tax policy. Goodno also worked in Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s administration as the commissioner of Minnesota’s Department of Human Services and served on the Governor’s Health Cabinet. Before joining the Department of Human Services, he served in the Minnesota House of Representatives for 12 years, representing the Moorhead area.
