Introduction

Christy is a senior associate in Fredrikson & Byron’s Corporate and Energy Practice Groups. Christy’s practice focuses on regulatory, renewable energy and wind development matters. She advises developers on the acquisition, development, financing, and permitting of wind and biomass projects. She also advises clients on regulatory matters involving the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission.

Prior to joining the firm, Christy worked in the Energy Division at the Minnesota Department of Commerce as Special Assistant to the Deputy Commissioner. In this role, Christy oversaw regulation of the energy Conservation Improvement Program (CIP), and Minnesota’s demand side management (DSM) program. 

Christy was instrumental in drafting and negotiating portions of the Next Generation Energy Act of 2007, a bill signed by Governor Tim Pawlenty in May 2007. Christy also participated in strategic planning at the Department and advised the Deputy Commissioner on matters involving energy efficiency, renewable energy, and other regulatory matters.
