Introduction
Jason is a senior associate in Fredrikson & Byron’s Oil & Gas and Real Estate practice groups. His practice includes a variety of transactional real estate matters relating to oil and gas exploration. He has significant experience in mineral title examination, including the preparation of drilling, division order, mortgage, and acquisition title opinions covering fee, state, Indian, and federal lands. Jason has prepared numerous complex opinions, including opinions covering lands which include subdivided portions of various incorporated cities and unincorporated townsites and opinions which include navigable rivers. Jason works closely with our Bismarck office.
Prior to joining Fredrikson & Byron in 2007, Jason practiced law for six years in Iowa as a general practitioner, with a focus on real estate law.

- Opinions including original townsites, various metes and bounds outlots, platted subdivisions, numerous railroad mains and spur lines, and other township, municipal, and county related matters in North Dakota.
- Opinions including the Missouri River, both where it remains a free flowing river and where it is now part of the Garrison Dam reservoir (Lake Sakakawea).
