Introduction

Erik is a shareholder in Fredrikson & Byron’s Securities, Renewable Energy, Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, Clean Technology, and Emerging Business Groups focusing in corporate and renewable energy finance, mergers and acquisitions, power purchase agreements and hedging/swap arrangements, securities, joint ventures, nonprofit trade associations, and a wide variety of issues concerning emerging and established companies, including those in the renewable energy, cleantech, medical device, biotechnology, life sciences, and high tech industries.  

Erik's experience in California allows him to advise California companies and Minnesota companies looking to do business or establish a presence on the West Coast. Erik also has significant experience with general business matters, including establishment of corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, corporate governance, stock option and equity incentive plans, and general contractual drafting and negotiation.

  • Represented national wind energy project development companies in multiple rounds of private and public financing.
  • Represented a leading beef producer in an approximately $100,000,000 acquisition by a national beef packing company. 
  • Represented a subsidiary of a large publicly-traded homebuilder in connection with the approximately $48,000,000 acquisition of all of the outstanding equity of a local developer. 
  • Represented a San Diego based insurance company in a $20,000,000 stock sale to a subsidiary of a National Banking Association. 
  • Represented publicly held IT company in a $9,000,000 acquisition of a defense contractor. 
  • Represented a nationally recognized real estate investment group in over $50,000,000 in private equity offerings. 
  • Represented a janitorial services company in an $11,000,000 acquisition by a nationally known strategic partner.
