Introduction

Lindsay Sokolowski is a shareholder at Fredrikson & Byron in the Employment and Labor Law, Trade Secret, and Construction Law Groups. She is also Co-Chair of Counsel for Women, our initiative focused on women in business. Lindsay’s clients consist of businesses at every stage of development. From new, small companies, to large, publicly-traded corporations, Lindsay provides legal representation to a wide range and size of business. Her practice focuses on the numerous employment issues faced by employers, including sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination (gender, disability, age and race), retaliation, wage and hour, independent contractor, and non-compete/employment contract cases. Lindsay also has extensive experience in collective/class action litigation involving state wage and hour laws and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). In addition to litigating single and multi-plaintiff cases in the federal and state courts, she represents employers in administrative investigations and proceedings involving the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, the state and federal Departments of Labor (DOL), and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).

Lindsay’s approach to helping her clients is creative and proactive, with a focus on common-sense solutions. She is a zealous advocate, but always looks for ways to assist her clients in making good business decisions within the bounds of the law. Lindsay provides clients with guidance and counseling in business matters ranging from specific questions to the development of employment policies. She is committed to her clients and their business, and spends time getting know them rather than just reacting to their legal needs when they arise. To support her clients, she provides ongoing consultation and training, as well as seminars on emerging and critical topics.
