Introduction

Asmah is a senior of counsel attorney and works with both private and public companies in a variety of technology and emerging industries, particularly with companies that develop, implement and license software and mobile applications and provide products or services in the information technology, healthcare, and life sciences industries. Asmah advises clients on privacy and compliance matters and the protection of their intellectual property and confidential information and handles a variety of domestic and international business transactions to help clients protect, develop, acquire, and commercialize their technology products and services. Asmah’s work includes working closely with clients to develop and update their template business contracts, as well as drafting and negotiating agreements for consulting, services, technology development, implementation, licensing software and software-as-a-service, hosting, marketing, sales and distribution.

In over 10 years of practice, Asmah has worked closely with many clients as their outside general counsel. Asmah takes a collaborative approach to working closely with clients and has an understanding of many of the day-to-day business issues faced by businesses in today’s economy and the need for efficient and practical legal advice and representation to protect clients and accomplish their goals.

Asmah teaches various legal studies courses at Hamline University. In addition, Asmah is a founding member of the Organization for Medical, Educational & Economic Development (OMEED), and engages in the non-profit’s humanitarian and sustainable development work, with a particular emphasis on Southeast Asia.
