Introduction
Becky is a Senior Government Relations Specialist in Fredrikson & Byron’s Government Relations Group. In this role, Becky provides all types of government relations services, including lobbying, political analysis and advising, strategy development, and legislative monitoring. Becky has worked in the government relations field for nearly eight years, and specializes in the transportation and transit industry.
Becky’s experience as a non-profit manager, student affairs professional and, most recently, as a legislative staff member provide a breadth of knowledge to Fredrikson’s Government Relations Practice. As a former administrator and political advisor to the Minnesota House Transportation Finance Committee, Becky is well-versed in transportation and public safety policy issues and has developed a comprehensive understanding of highway, transit, airport, and public safety finance. Her experience with the Breast Cancer 3-Day and AIDSRide allowed Becky to fine-tune her event management and public relations skills. Becky also has an extensive background in higher education, a field she worked in for seven years at both public and private educational institutions.
Solving problems is Becky’s passion. At the Minnesota House, she coordinated a department that responded to constituent inquires for 68 elected officials. In doing so, she developed strong working relationships with a number of state agencies and departments, including:
