Many years ago Sarah's parents bought her a hot pink point-and-click camera and she fell in love with photography. It’s been an excellent creative outlet for her because it gives her freedom of expression and joy in seeing personal results – not to mention a great excuse to travel.
Sarah believes that photography has helped her find different ways of looking a case and making sure we’ve covered alternative perspectives. Along with being detail-oriented, Sarah finds it easier to build rapport with clients because she’s spent so much time getting people warmed up for the camera.
Linda’s photography has proved to be the “perfect” creative outlet. She enjoys being able to capture the beauty of nature and doing outdoor photo shoots of people. It’s also enhanced her job skills. For example, she has set up her own photography business which involved creating and filing Articles of Incorporation, attending a tax seminar and meeting with a CPA, using accounting software, locating cost-effective vendors, and keeping track of inventory. Also, in working with her photography assistants, Linda has had to manage varying workflow by clearly laying out tasks, having materials assembly-ready, checking quality, and providing feedback. For her clients, important communications have included meetings, bookings, pricing, and deadlines. All of these elements have given Linda a renewed understanding of and appreciation for the firm, its clients, her supervisors, her colleagues, and her job.
