Shep Harris

Even though growing up in New Orleans didn’t provide a proper environment for ski jumping, Shep always had a desire to experience the feeling of flying through the air by way of a ski jump. And while Shep is a relatively new ski jumper, he has already found benefits that have carried over to work. Ski jumping has given him focus. Shep needs to properly break down each step and figure out how to get from point “a” to “b” successfully. He also needs to think through if there are multiple ways of achieving his goal and decide what his best option is. Shep’s able to evaluate and think things through thoroughly before execution…therefore hopefully avoiding injury. All of which makes him translate that “if you’re not looking out for your own best interests, you in turn won’t be looking out for the client’s.” Shep has also learned that timing is everything. “There’s always a best time to advocate for my client’s needs. Sometimes you need to wait to advocate for your clients and then others you need act immediately.”
