Kim Lowe Receives "Volunteer of the Year Award" from BestPrep

Kim Lowe, a shareholder in Fredrikson & Byron’s Corporate group, received BestPrep’s most prestigious award at the annual luncheon on Friday, May 12, 2006. Kim, an active volunteer for six years, has worked tirelessly to help raise funds for BestPrep through her support of the “Birdies for BestPrep” event, held each January. This event is a mini-golf themed special event that raises funds necessary to carry out the work of BestPrep’s financial literacy programs. Kim has also given her time by teaching at the program for two weeks each summer. 

In a letter to Kim, Robert Kaitz, President and CEO, states:  “at the heart of any successful non-profit are its volunteers. The key to BestPrep’s growth and success over the last thirty years has been individuals like you who have volunteered their time to educate the youth of Minnesota…Your commitment to and enthusiasm for our organization has made a lasting impression on staff, students, and fellow volunteers.”

BestPrep is a statewide non-profit that serves 100,000 students and teachers in grades 4-12 annually. Over 1,000 volunteers from business, labor, education, government, and social services conduct presentations in classrooms, work with students, serve as faculty-in-residence, provide technology related services to schools, and participate on committees and/or the board of directors.
