Fredrikson & Byron Hires Four Lateral Attorneys

Minneapolis, MN June 20, 2006 – Fredrikson & Byron announces that four attorneys have joined the firm: Joseph Sokolowski (Officer), Rachna Sullivan (Officer), Teresa Thompson (Officer), and Lindsay Zamzow (Associate).  

Joseph Sokolowski is a litigator with 20 years of experience in defending employment litigation for employers in both state and federal courts. Joe also represents employers before all local, state and federal administrative agencies. He advises management on all aspects of their employment practices and provides employment law training on a variety of employment topics. Joe has defended employers in collective/class action litigation involving state and Federal (FLSA) wage and hour claims. Joe also represents individuals and organizations in business tort litigation involving non-compete agreements, trade secrets, and confidential information, as well as antitrust and trade regulation. Joe is consistently selected as a SuperLawyer by Minnesota Law & Politics, Twin Cities Business and Mpls./St. Paul magazines, and is ranked among the Top 40 Employment Litigators in Minnesota by Minnesota Law & Politics Magazine. Rachna Sullivan focuses her practice in the area of general commercial litigation. Rachna has experience with breach of contracts, wind energy litigation, and other general business disputes. Prior to joining Fredrikson & Byron, Rachna was an assistant district attorney in Kings County, New York, clerked for the Honorable James M. Rosenbaum, Chief Judge of the United States District Court, and most recently, was a partner at the law firm of Rider Bennett in Minneapolis. Teresa Thompson joins Fredrikson & Byron’s Employment and Labor Law Group as an Officer. She is a litigator with twelve years of experience defending employers in state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies and private arbitrations. Teresa has significant experience defending retaliation claims under the Minnesota Whistleblower’s Act and state and federal civil rights laws. She has litigated claims of sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination (age, disability, gender and race), and FMLA and FLSA violations. Teresa also works affirmatively on behalf of employers to enforce confidentiality and non-compete agreements, and other commercial contracts. In addition to her litigation practice, Teresa also counsels employers on litigation prevention -- focusing on policy development, employee training, human resource issues, and compliance with state and federal labor laws. Lindsay Zamzow has joined the firm as an associate in Fredrikson & Byron’s Employment and Labor Law Group. Lindsay represents a wide range and size of corporations, both public and private. Her practice addresses the numerous employment issues raised in sexual harassment, wrongful termination, discrimination (gender, disability, age and race), retaliation, wage and hour, and non-compete/employment contract cases. Lindsay also has extensive experience in collective/class action litigation involving state wage and hour laws and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). In addition to litigating single and multi-plaintiff cases in the federal and state courts, she represents employers in administrative investigations and proceedings involving the Federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Minnesota Department of Human Rights, and the state and federal Departments of Labor. Lindsay also provides clients with guidance and counseling in employment matters ranging from specific questions to the development of employment policies, ongoing consultation, and training.
