John Patterson Joins Fredrikson & Byron


Minneapolis, MN January 21, 2009 – – John Patterson has joined Fredrikson & Byron as an officer in the Construction, Real Estate and Litigation groups. His emphasis is on construction and real estate law. His experience includes construction claims and contract review, representing owners, architects, contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and suppliers. John also provides legal advice to lenders, developers, contractors, commercial landlords, tenants, and other business entities. He assists clients with acquisitions, sales, leasing, and development of commercial and residential properties, which includes negotiating and drafting purchase agreements and leases, property tax appeals, mortgages, mechanics liens, eminent domain proceedings, 1031 exchanges, sale-leaseback transactions, and unlawful detainer proceedings. John also assists clients with real estate issues related to tax exempt bond financing.

John has also served as a mediator or arbitrator in more than 100 cases primarily in the areas of construction, general commercial litigation, and real estate. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association’s panel of construction arbitrators.
