Fredrikson & Byron Announces Election of New Board Members;
Attorney Mary Ranum Elected Board Chair
Minneapolis, MN November 19, 2010 – – Fredrikson & Byron has elected these attorneys to its board of directors: Steven Dickinson, John Erhart, John Koneck, and Mary Ranum were re-elected to two-year terms on the firm’s board, and Steven Quam was elected to his first two-year board term. They join the board’s current directors: William Brody, Clinton Cutler, David Glaser, and Ann Ladd.
Attorney John Satorius retired from the board after serving as board chair for the past six years. Ranum was elected as board chair, and Koneck was re-elected firm president. Erhart was re-elected treasurer, and Quam was elected secretary. Koneck, along with Ladd and Cutler, serve on the firm’s executive committee.
“Mary is Fredrikson & Byron’s first female board chair, succeeding John Satorius, who has led our board well during the past many years,” said Koneck. “Her election comes during a year when we are ranked one of the top firms in the country in terms of our high percentage of female partners. We also have many women heads of practice groups and committees. Mary is well positioned to serve as chair, based on her board experience and leadership of our real estate practice group.”
“I am proud of Fredrikson’s reputation as a place where women can be successful and hold leadership positions,” added Ranum. “Because our clients continue to rely on us as their legal and business advisors, we’ve experienced revenue stability during a tremendously difficult business climate,” she said. “Our leadership team addressed the recession as soon as it began, reducing expenses, maintaining our emphasis on marketing, and retaining our valued client relationships. As a result, we have not laid off a single lawyer. I look forward to my new role and am confident with the great leadership team we have in place, we’ll be able to continue to support the strategic focus of Fredrikson & Byron.”
New Board Members of Fredrikson & Byron’s Foundation
