Pam Wandzel Receives 2011 Unsung Legal Heroes Award


Minneapolis, MN September 7, 2011 – – Fredrikson & Byron Pro Bono Coordinator Pam Wandzel is a 2011 recipient of the Minnesota Lawyer Unsung Legal Heroes award. Reserved for the state’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals, the award recognizes people from the following categories: firm administrator, law librarian, legal marketer, legal secretary, information technology, accounting and paralegal. Wandzel was nominated by MEDA, a Fredrikson & Byron pro bono partner for more than 40 years, for her dedication and commitment to assisting minority business owners through pro bono services. Honorees will be recognized at a reception on September 21.

As Pro Bono Coordinator, Wandzel works with local and national organizations to help identify areas of need for pro bono legal services and matches those needs with volunteer lawyers within Fredrikson & Byron. Wandzel also coordinates Fredrikson & Byron’s community service program. Through this program, volunteers in the Volunteer Reading Program read with fourth grade students at Whittier International Elementary School, participate in home and neighborhood rehabilitation projects through Project for Pride in Living and volunteer at Sharing & Caring Hands. She also oversees the disbursements of funds and the distribution of gifts for Friends of Fredrikson, an employee-run nonprofit .
