Fredrikson & Byron Attorneys Recognized by
Minnesota Lawyer as Attorneys of the Year
Minneapolis, MN December 15, 2011 – – Thomas Fraser, Kimberly Lowe, and Kevin Riach will be recognized by Minnesota Lawyer at an upcoming event for their professional achievements. Fraser, along with legal colleague Mike Unger, will be honored with the Outstanding Service to the Profession award for their dedication and commitment to the Minnesota legal community through Call for Justice. Fraser and Unger spearheaded the creation of Call for Justice, a joint project of the Hennepin and Ramsey Bar Foundations, numerous law firms, private foundations, and United Way’s 211 program, to provide a hotline, referral services and brief legal advice for the disadvantaged. Lowe and Riach will be recognized by Minnesota Lawyer as Attorneys of the Year 2011. Honorees were chosen based on their leadership in the profession, involvement in newsworthy events or cases, excellence in corporate or transactional services, and public service. All 2011 honorees will be recognized on February 23, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis and in a special edition of Minnesota Lawyer.
Tom Fraser has over 30 years of experience practicing in corporate and commercial litigation in both federal and state courts. Fraser’s complex litigation practice includes shareholder and partnership disputes, business valuation cases, class actions, securities claims, antitrust, insurance coverage, and health law disputes.
Fraser has lectured on trial practice, shareholder disputes, corporate investigations, D&O liability, evidence, ADR, Rule 11, and the death penalty. He has arbitrated and mediated over 500 cases as a neutral. He has been appointed a special master, referee, receiver, arbitrator and mediator by federal and state courts. Fraser is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, the College of Commercial Arbitrators, and the International Academy of Mediators, and is listed in “The Best Lawyers in America.”
Kimberly Lowe is a shareholder in Fredrikson & Byron’s Corporate, Securities, and Nonprofit Groups. She advises private and public companies and partnerships, nonprofit organizations and cooperatives on general corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, SEC and IRS compliance, joint ventures, complex reorganizations, and corporate governance. Kevin Riach is an associate in Fredrikson & Byron’s White Collar & Regulatory Defense and Litigation Groups. He represents clients in civil, regulatory, and white collar criminal matters.
