Ryan Murphy Awarded UMTMA Transaction of the Year
Minneapolis, MN December 20, 2011 – – Fredrikson & Byron attorney Ryan T. Murphy received the 2011 Upper Midwest Turnaround Management Association (UMTMA) Transaction of the Year Award. The award recognizes the TMA member who, together with a team of professionals, orchestrated the most impactful transaction (non-operational restructuring) in various categories. Murphy was selected for the Mid-Size Company (Revenue between $50 million and $300 million USD) for the Minnesota Print Services, Inc. transaction, along with team co-leader, Timothy G. Becker of Lighthouse Management Group, Inc.
Murphy and Becker will be honored at the UMTMA award program on January 19 in Minneapolis.
Murphy is a shareholder in Fredrikson’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Workouts; Litigation; and Private Equity & Venture Capital Groups. Murphy practices principally in the area of business reorganization, including out-of-court workouts, chapter 11 bankruptcy, receiverships, creditors’ remedies, and related commercial litigation such as fraudulent transfers. He also represents debtors and creditors in Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy cases, and works with banks and other financial institutions on UCC issues. Murphy’s skills range from advising businesses and individuals during complex restructurings to litigating intricate business disputes.
