FREDRIKSON & BYRON HIRES SEVEN NEW ATTORNEYS
Minneapolis, MN November 20, 2002 - - Fredrikson & Byron has hired seven new associate attorneys. Molly O'Brien Loussaert has joined the firm's Litigation group, Brian McCool has joined the Real Estate group, Ryan Murphy has joined the Bankruptcy & Reorganization group, Carrie Seele has joined the Corporate and Banking & Financial Services group, and Frank Piskolich, John Pickerill (also a member of the Advertising, Media & Entertainment group), and Jeannine Thiele have joined the firm's Intellectual Property group.
Molly O'Brien Loussaert handles corporate and family law litigation matters. Prior to attending law school, Loussaert gained experience in the legal field as an immigration paralegal. She graduated with high distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law and received her B.A. degree summa cum laude from UCLA.
Brian S. McCool assists clients in all types of real estate-related litigation and dispute resolution. He also assists clients with a variety of commercial and residential transactions, including acquisition, construction, leasing, and financing of properties. McCool graduated with highest distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law and received his B.A. degree summa cum laude from Buena Vista University.
Ryan T. Murphy's practice focuses on debtor/creditor law, bankruptcy related litigation, and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Fredrikson & Byron, Murphy completed a one-year judicial clerkship for the Honorable Donald P. Lay, United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He graduated summa cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law and completed his undergraduate work at Saint John's University.
Carrie L. Seele's practice involves a variety of business law work including commercial loans, the purchase and sale of businesses, and entity selection and formation. She graduated with high distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law and completed her undergraduate work, with distinction, from the University of Iowa.
Frank P. Piskolich handles a wide variety of intellectual property work, with a primary focus on patents. He is a licensed professional engineer and spent eleven years in the petroleum refining and chemical industries prior to pursuing his law degree. Piskolich graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School and received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
John C. Pickerill's practice focuses on all facets of advertising law, including domestic and international trademark and copyright matters. Before shifting focus to the legal side of the advertising industry, Pickerill spent five years as an advertising account executive at Carmichael Lynch managing image and direct response programs for such clients as Harley Davidson, United HealthCare, Rollerblade, Formica, and Volvo Trucks. He graduated from William Mitchell College of Law, magna cum laude, and received his B.S. in journalism/advertising, with Phi Kappa Phi honors, from Iowa State University.
Jeannine J. Thiele's practice focuses on patent prosecution primarily in the genomics, biotechnology, and chemical industries. Prior to practicing law, she worked as a research and development analytical chemist in the Organic Vapor Monitor Lab in the Occupational Health & Environmental Safety Division of 3M. Thiele was the first student to participate in the University of Minnesota's Joint Degree Program in Law, Health & the Life Sciences, where she received her J.D. degree, magna cum laude, and M.S. degree. She graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from the College of St. Catherine with a B.A. degree (Major: Biology, Minor: Chemistry). Thiele's research emphasis, at both the undergraduate and graduate level, was in the fields of genomics and cellular biology.
