The program is comprised of 10 mentor pairs and 10 mentor teams, each consisting of partners, senior associates and new lawyers. The program works to introduce our new lawyers to a wide array of colleagues sooner than later as well as helps more senior lawyers deepen their professional relationships across the firm. In addition, the Mentor Program provides a great opportunity for attorneys at all levels to get to know their colleagues from Fredrikson’s other practice areas, developing a wide-ranging set of professional contacts and interdisciplinary skills.
The teams meet frequently throughout the mentoring program term—over meals, coffee, recreational activities or other options—and all communications between the teams are governed by a code of confidentiality to encourage frank, spirited discussions about any topic of interest. These meetings allow the firm’s lawyers to learn more about firm financial topics, the shareholder process, development of client relationships, career goals, the evolution of the practice of law, new challenges in the practice, work-family balance and any number of topics on which the Fredrikson mentor can offer their first-hand experience.
