Website Accessibility Alert for Government Contractors

September 24, 2019

Accessibility keyboardGovernment contractors, are the websites and deliverables you provide to government clients accessible? The National Federation of the Blind (NFB) sent a warning shot to government contractors, suing Blue Cross Blue Shield for its alleged inaccessible benefits website provided to government employees.

This trend of suing government contractors for non-accessible websites, apps and other deliverables is just beginning. For example, a division of Xerox was recently sued for its alleged non-accessible $66 million website delivered to the State of California.

Proactive legal and technical measures can reduce your risk under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Sec. 504, Sec. 508 and state laws.
