Fredrikson & Byron acted as legal counsel to Techne Corporation (NASDAQ:TECH), d/b/a Bio-Techne, a company engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of biotechnology products and clinical calibrators and controls, in its agreement to acquire ProteinSimple for $300 million in cash. ProteinSimple develops and commercializes proprietary systems and consumables for protein analysis that help reveal new insights into the true nature of proteins. The closing of the acquisition is subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions. The parties expect to close the transaction on or around July 31, 2014, subject to such closing conditions. Fredrikson’s legal team included Alexander Rosenstein, Ruilin Li, Andrew M. Nick, Amanda L.
