Jeffrey Steinle, Fredrikson & Byron AttorneyAttorney Jeffrey J. Steinle joins Fredrikson & Byron as of counsel in the firm’s Life Sciences, Health Care Innovation & IT and Commercial Law Groups. Steinle is a corporate attorney who advises life science companies executing M&A, divestiture, financing, joint venture, licensing and commercial transactions. He serves as general counsel to digital health companies as they navigate the myriad legal issues related to the growing use of artificial intelligence, smart algorithms and “big data” in medical technology.

Before joining Fredrikson, Steinle founded and led an independent boutique consulting firm that provided general counsel services and strategic advice to life science companies. Steinle has a background in healthcare law and developed substantial medical technology expertise during his time at Medtronic as an M&A lawyer, corporate development leader and divisional counsel. Steinle is also currently the General Counsel of Vios Medical, Inc., an emerging growth healthcare information technology company with an IoT-based patient management platform delivered as a service.

Steinle has an extensive background leading in-house legal teams. In addition to his experience at Medtronic, he also served as the Vice President of Business Law and Deputy General Counsel of SUPERVALU, INC. where he led the legal teams advising the company and developing strategies related to the company’s M&A, securities, financing and real estate activities. Prior to joining Medtronic, Steinle was a corporate and restructuring attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate Meagher and Flom. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of Pillsbury United Communities, which serves over 55,000 individuals in the Twin Cities every year through its interconnected system of programs, community centers, and social enterprises.
