Attorney Aleida Ortega Conners Named President-Elect of the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association

Fredrikson & Byron Attorney Aleida Ortega ConnersAttorney Aleida Ortega Conners has been named the President-Elect of the Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association (MHBA), a non-profit association dedicated to advancing the interests of Hispanic attorneys and law students in Minnesota. An active MHBA member since August 2011, Conners has served on the Board of Directors for the past three terms, most recently as Vice-President. During that time, she worked with members of the organization to prepare a winning bid package for hosting the 2020 Hispanic National Bar Association Annual Convention in Minneapolis. Conners’ term as President-Elect began on April 20, 2017.

“Long term, I hope to advance the organization’s mission through additional programming and increased member engagement,” said Conners. “I look forward to heading the planning effort for the organization’s annual gala in 2018.”

Conners is a corporate attorney who focuses on helping businesses expand into Latin American markets. An attorney in Fredrikson & Byron’s International and Corporate Groups, she works on matters such as: formation, maintenance and dissolution of foreign subsidiaries; drafting and negotiation of manufacturing, sales, consulting and distribution agreements; and cross-border merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions.

The Minnesota Hispanic Bar Association (MHBA) was founded in 1991 to organize Hispanic attorneys, judges, law students and other concerned members of the Hispanic community into a force for professional and community benefit. The MHBA mission is to unify and organize all members of the Hispanic legal community, to promote legal professionals and to serve as an advocate for the Hispanic community in Minnesota. Today, the MHBA has approximately 200 members representing all sectors of the legal community.
