Fredrikson & Byron attorneys Aron J. Frakes, Nicole M. Moen, Christopher D. Pham, Anupama D. Sreekanth and Marie E. Williams have been named to Minnesota Lawyer’sAttorneys of the Year” for 2019. They will be honored during an awards program in Minneapolis on February 6, 2020.

Moen is being recognized for her individual work. Frakes, Pham, Sreekanth and Williams are being recognized as a group for their work in Lor Ler Kaw, Lor Ler Hok Koh, Mary Jane Summerville and George Thawmoo v. ISD #625.

An outside panel of judges selected the 2019 “Attorneys of the Year” honorees based on the following criteria: leadership in the profession, involvement in major cases, other newsworthy events, excellence in corporate or transactional services and public service. The nominations were submitted by judges, bar groups, clients and attorneys. Honorees come from diverse practice groups including criminal law, litigation, public service, intellectual property and in-house counsel.

Frakes is an experienced and skilled litigator whose practice focuses on complex civil litigation. He represents clients in a wide variety of disputes, including product liability defense, class action defense, fraud and conspiracy cases, consumer fraud actions, large contract disputes, construction litigation, professional malpractice defense (engineering) and toxic tort mass actions. He has represented clients in virtually all facets of litigation and alternative dispute resolution, including before arbitration tribunals, state and federal trial courts throughout the U.S., and various appellate courts. Frakes also devotes a significant portion of his time to pro bono representation.

Moen is a Co-Chair of the firm’s Business Litigation Department. She is a respected litigator who resolves highly complex business and commercial disputes for clients in regulated industries such as health care and energy. Moen has represented clients with matters involving regulatory demands, business conflict, employment disputes and class actions. Moen is recognized as a pragmatic and personable leader throughout the firm and in the greater Twin Cities, and she routinely gives back to the community through her pro bono work and service to nonprofits.

As a Co-Chair of the Sports & Entertainment Practice Group, Pham works with clients to manage the opportunities and challenges that have vast legal implications relating to both personal and business matters. He also represents clients in complex cases involving securities and financial fraud, shareholder derivative and class actions, special litigation committee investigations, merger and acquisition litigation, investor-broker firm disputes, contractual disputes, partnership and shareholder disputes, and SEC, FINRA and state regulatory proceedings. Pham is involved in several pro bono initiatives and is a volunteer attorney for YouthLink, Hennepin County Housing Court Project and Children’s Law Center of Minnesota.

Sreekanth represents clients in business litigation, healthcare litigation, and internal investigation matters. She has handled a wide variety of complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts and in arbitration, and has experience supporting individuals and organizations in the healthcare and medical device industry. Her litigation practice is complemented by her experience conducting sensitive internal investigations regarding regulatory and compliance matters.
