Charles assists utilities, transmission and independent power producers with energy law matters.
Charles assists clients in the energy industry on regulatory and energy law matters. He is part of a team advising utilities, independent power producers and transmission companies on siting, routing, permitting and other regulatory matters before the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission and other federal, state and local agencies.
Prior to joining Fredrikson & Byron, Charles clerked in the Appellate Practice Group of a Madison, Wisconsin law firm, interned for Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court and provided research assistance to a professor focusing on administrative and constitutional law.
Charles is dedicated to doing pro bono work and has worked on projects such as supporting a Section 1983 pro bono prisoner civil rights case, assisting legal permanent residents in completing and filing naturalization forms through the Madison Path to Citizenship and working with the Tenant Resource Center to advise tenants of options in disputes arising from rental housing agreements.
