Overview

Mary represents businesses and employers in complex litigation matters, including employment-related litigation and contract disputes. While Mary works with employers in various industries, she works most frequently with clients in the health care and medical device industries.

Mary guides clients through every step of the dispute resolution process, including in state, federal and administrative courts, and in alternative dispute resolution settings. She advocates for clients who are responding to complaints of retaliation, discrimination or harassment filed with civil rights agencies like the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.

Mary’s practice focuses on employment law and litigation, but her general business litigation and health care compliance background allows her to serve the wide-ranging legal needs of businesses and employers. Prior to joining Fredrikson’s Employment, Labor, and Benefits Group, Mary advised health care clients on regulatory compliance policies and procedures and defending against allegations of noncompliance, including fraud and abuse laws. Her compliance experience provides her with valuable insight into the legal and business pressures facing clients, which she uses to deliver practical, industry-appropriate solutions. While obtaining her J.D. from the University of Minnesota, she represented clients as a student attorney in the Insurance Law Clinic and externed with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.
