- Representing national and multinational companies before customs authorities, developing and implementing legal strategies to mitigate tax and customs risks.
- Advising companies in establishing manufacturing facilities in several jurisdictions and in major corporate reorganizations.
- Counseling companies in cross-border M&A transactions in various industries, including pharmaceutical, automotive, technology, engineering and aerospace sectors.
- Assisting companies in obtaining registrations under the Mexican General Importer’s Registry, Sectorial Importer’s Registry, IMMEX and PROSEC programs, as well as the VAT and Authorized Economic Operator Certifications.
- Representing companies in negotiations before the Mexican Tax Authority (SAT) regarding various substantial claims resulting in the abatement of the vast majority of the initial claim.
- Representing companies in proceedings initiated by the Mexican government to cancel their IMMEX and PROSEC programs, as well as their VAT and Authorized Economic Operator Certifications.
- Analyzing customs legislation and providing guidance on domestic and international regulations to ensure legal compliance in trade operations.
- Conducting internal audits and reviewing foreign trade and indirect tax processes to identify risks and strengthen compliance controls.
