Fredrikson & Byron has promoted Robert J. Hamilton to serve as its chief operating officer. Hamilton has executive responsibility for Marketing, Finance, IT, Human Resources, Information Resources and Administrative Services, and acts in an ex-officio capacity on Fredrikson’s Board of Directors, its Executive Committee and the Fredrikson & Byron Foundation. Hamilton joined Fredrikson in 1994 as its chief financial officer. Prior to joining Fredrikson, Hamilton spent 15 years in the public accounting and financial services industries.
Fredrikson & Byron acted as legal counsel to Stone-Goff Partners in its sale of equity stake in Thymes, a leading bath, body and home fragrance brand, to a private equity consortium which included consumer-focused private equity firm Castanea Partners.

Attorney Aron J. Frakes joins Fredrikson & Byron’s Litigation Group as an officer. Frakes was most recently a litigation partner in the Chicago office of McDermott Will & Emery. Frakes represents clients in a wide variety of disputes, including large contract disputes, product liability defense, class action defense, fraud and conspiracy cases, consumer fraud actions, construction litigation, professional engineering malpractice defense, and toxic tort mass actions. Frakes is licensed to practice in Illinois and is in the process of applying to be licensed in Minnesota.
