Clinics and health systems both must consider a variety of legal issues when compensating physicians.
- Stark limits the services for which a physician may receive compensation in both clinics and health systems.
- Health systems and non-profits must worry about fair market value-related issues.
- The anti-kickback statute and state laws affect physician compensation from outside entities like drug and device companies.
This session will discuss key compensation related issues, describe common mistakes and misconceptions and describe shortcomings in many fair market value analyses, including problems with relying on salary surveys.
We have applied for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for this program in Iowa and Minnesota. Please contact Greta Larson at email@example.com if you are an attorney licensed in another state and would like information about obtaining CLE accreditation. We have also applied for Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) credits. Webinar participants will be notified of accreditation upon program approval of CLE and HCCA credits (typically three or four weeks following the webinar).
