Prior to joining Fredrikson & Byron, Melissa served as a law clerk to the Honorable David L. Lillehaug and the Honorable Anne K. McKeig of the Minnesota Supreme Court. As a law clerk, Melissa was expected to reach comprehensive understanding of the issues before the court and the parties’ arguments, navigate complex regulatory and statutory schemes, and communicate research clearly and concisely.
Melissa received her J.D. from the Washington University School of Law, where she was an articles editor for the Washington University Law Review and served on the board of the Women’s Law Caucus. She also worked as a research assistant to Professor Elizabeth Sepper, preparing written reports on a variety of topics, including religious accommodations and sex discrimination.
