A notice informing employees of their rights under the new Minnesota Sick and Safe Time Act must be provided to each employee, in the employee’s primary language, by January 1, 2024, or at the start of the employment if it is after January 1, 2024. The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry has released a sample employee notice in English, with Chinese, Hmong, Somali and Spanish to come.

The sample notice can be downloaded, for free, on the workplace notices and posters section of the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry’s website.
