For the tenth consecutive year, Fredrikson has received national recognition for its status as one of the best U.S. law firms for female attorneys, according to a recently published Law360 survey.

The Law360 Pulse Ceiling Smashers Report indicates law firms are taking strides toward gender parity in upper levels. With women comprising 34.4 percent of its equity partners, Fredrikson improved from its fifth-place rank in 2022 to fourth nationwide in 2023 among the firms in its headcount category (251-600 attorneys). The firm is the top-ranked Minnesota-headquartered firm in this group.

According to the survey, gains for female lawyers were incremental compared to previous years and there is a long road ahead toward full parity, however, female attorney promotion rates jumped to 41 percent this year—up from 38.

“I have spent my entire legal career at Fredrikson,” said shareholder Melodie Rose, board member, compensation committee member and division chair. “That is due, in part, to the advancement opportunities available to me from the beginning. Our culture empowers women to build the practice they want and engage in the firm, including through a variety of leadership opportunities available across the firm."
