We are pleased to introduce you to "Our Champions," a series revealing the people and stories behind Fredrikson’s support of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. Each edition spotlights a team member or group making an impact—showcasing their reasons for serving our community and applauding their efforts in Special Olympics’ Inclusion Revolution.
Meet John Parzych, a shareholder in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group.
When John signed up to help at the Special Olympics Minnesota State Bowling Tournament last November, it was a chance for him to connect with a sport he’s loved since growing up in the Midwest. “Bowling is near and dear to my heart,” he said. “And Special Olympics is such a special organization.”
He said the atmosphere was inspiring, particularly “the kids and their level of excitement for each other while they bowled,” John recalled. “This was a state meet, so the competition was strong, but what impressed me was how much they wanted each other to succeed.” John served as one of 20 Fredrikson volunteers to be a lane monitor, assisting on lanes, cheering on athletes and recording results.
The experience also shaped his outlook on the upcoming 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. John plans to volunteer again and hopes his time will again make a difference. “You never know how much of a difference your small contribution can make in another person’s life,” he said.
For John, these events are important because they bring people together. “The community benefits any time people come together to help others,” he noted. Getting involved is something to look forward to in June.
