Effective December 15, 2025, the U.S. State Department will require an online presence review for all H-1B applicants and their dependents, in addition to students and exchange visitors already subject to this review. To enable this vetting, applicants for H-1B (and H-4), F, M, and J nonimmigrant visas must set all social media profiles to “public.” As such, the U.S. consulate in India has canceled appointments in relation to this new development.
