Fredrikson shareholder Asmah Tareen has been selected as an honoree for the Minnesota Lawyer Top Women in Law awards. Minnesota Lawyer’s second annual Top Women in Law class celebrates the outstanding achievements of women in Minnesota’s legal community. The honorees were selected based on the core principles of leadership, professionalism, accomplishment and passion for making a difference.
As a partner in Fredrikson’s Technology and Data Group, Tareen represents clients in the medical device, life sciences, software, IT, retail, renewable energy and agricultural industries. With over 20 years of experience, Tareen brings a practical and collaborative approach to helping entrepreneurs, start-ups and private and public companies accomplish their business goals through IP portfolio development and management, strategic transactions, licensing, development, collaboration, manufacturing, supply and distribution agreements. Tareen has served in various leadership roles at the firm, currently chairing the firm’s Recruiting and Hiring Committee, responsible for interviewing and hiring law students from across the country. She is actively engaged in her community and regularly mentors college students, law students and young attorneys. She is a founding member of OMEED, a Minnesota-based nonprofit organization that provides humanitarian relief and sustainable development work in Southeast Asia. In addition, she has taught various legal studies courses at Hamline University.
Minnesota Lawyer states that this year’s honorees have become champions for the next generation of women lawyers who are following in their footsteps. They are remarkable role models, trailblazers and public-service lawyers as well as attorneys who have dedicated their careers to nonprofit work, private practice and in-house counsel work. These women are leaders in their practice areas and are instrumental to their companies’ success. Female attorneys from across the legal profession will be celebrated at a gala event on Thursday, October 24, at Quincy Hall in northeast Minneapolis.
