Fredrikson’s Director of Pro Bono & Community Service, Katy Drahos, has been appointed by the Minnesota Supreme Court to the brand-new Board of Civil Legal Aid. Drahos will serve a four-year term, beginning July 1, 2025, to increase access to legal assistance throughout the state of Minnesota. The Board is tasked with approving and recommending budgets for civil legal services, establishing funding distribution procedures, and setting program standards and administrative policies to ensure high-quality advocacy across the state (Minn. Stat. §480.2415, subd.2(b) (2024)).
Drahos is responsible for the development, implementation and overall coordination of Fredrikson’s pro bono program. The firm's pro bono program serves the unmet legal needs of our community while providing challenging and rewarding pro bono opportunities for the firm's lawyers. Prior to joining Fredrikson, Drahos served as Access to Justice Director for the Minnesota State Bar Association where she led Bar-wide efforts to improve access to justice by engaging members of the private bar, legal aid and the courts to tackle legal and systemic issues facing the most vulnerable members of the community.
