We are pleased to introduce you to ‘Our Champions,’ a series revealing the people and stories behind Fredrikson’s support of the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. Each edition spotlights a team member or group making an impact—showcasing their reasons for serving our community and applauding their efforts in Special Olympics’ Inclusion Revolution.

Meet Travis Anderson, a shareholder in the firm's Mergers & Acquisitions and Private Equity groups.

Travis has been connected to the Special Olympics for nearly 35 years. It started when he was a high school student in Willmar, Minnesota. As part of a school service group, he volunteered at a Special Olympics track and field event with a bunch of his friends.

He recalled running down the track with an athlete, crossing the finish line together as the crowd cheered. "That moment left a lasting impression—the shared energy, the celebration and the genuine connection with the athletes," he says. "It's remarkable to reflect on the fact that a single experience nearly 35 years ago continues to shape my commitment to this organization."

Over the years, his involvement has included volunteering at Special Olympics sporting events, participating in polar plunges and board service with the Special Olympics Minnesota and now with the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games. When Minneapolis was selected to host the USA Games, he didn't hesitate to get involved. Travis helped bring the sponsorship opportunity to the firm and has played a key role in supporting the USA Games through extensive pro bono legal work—from negotiating sponsorship, venue and security contracts to providing legal support for the opening and closing ceremonies.

Travis has been impressed with how colleagues are excited to be a part of the work. "The response from colleagues across the firm has been overwhelmingly positive," he says. "There is a genuine eagerness to contribute, and that collective enthusiasm speaks to the values our firm holds." What started as a single volunteer experience has grown into a firmwide legacy of strengthened unity and inclusion, which he looks forward to continuing this June as a sponsor, spectator and volunteer.
