Alex R. Munro

Alex helps companies and universities protect new technologies through patent prosecution, portfolio strategy and competitive patent analyses in industries including biotech, medical devices and agriculture.

Alex works closely with clients to understand their inventions, business goals and patent needs. She manages patent and application portfolios and drafts and prosecutes U.S. and international patent applications across a range of technologies. She also conducts patent searches, evaluates patentability, validity, freedom-to-operate and infringement issues, and advises emerging and established clients on prosecution strategy, portfolio management and competitive patent analyses.

Alex advises clients working with technologies across biotechnology, life sciences, agriculture, medical devices, software and applied systems. She helps clients address patent needs that arise during product development and commercialization, including work involving gene therapy and genetic engineering technologies, bioreactors and other biotechnology innovations.

In addition to her patent prosecution, opinion and portfolio counseling work, Alex has experience in patent litigation and enforcement matters, providing support in conjunction with litigation counsel. Alex is a registered patent attorney, licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
