Overview
Donovan assists clients with mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, entity formation, and various other transactional matters.
Drawing on his prior business experience, Donovan seeks to understand his clients’ objectives and the practical considerations behind their decisions to provide legal advice aligned with their broader business goals. His experience includes drafting corporate governance documents, evaluating corporate entity structures and reviewing commercial agreements. He has also researched securities reporting, cross-border data privacy, tax treatment and bankruptcy issues.
Before joining Fredrikson, Donovan managed institutionally owned life science, office, retail and post office real estate assets, prepared investor reports and valuation models, analyzed market and budget trends, and collaborated across property management, leasing, accounting and marketing teams. While attending the University of Minnesota Law School, Donovan also worked in the Sports & NIL Clinic, where he advised collegiate athletes on agency agreements and other name, image, and likeness matters, including contract review and negotiation.
