Overview

Programs and arrangements that compensate physicians for their work improving quality and reducing cost can benefit everyone involved, including hospitals, ASCs, physicians and patients.

This session, presented on March 11, 2020, described the legal issues for potential stakeholders – including medical professionals, medical device companies, and conveners/administrative entities – to consider in designing, implementing and participating in these programs.

It also offered a brief overview and a few practical observations about participation in some of CMS Innovation Center’s Episode-Based Payment Initiatives, including Bundled Payments for Care Improvement Advanced (BPCI Advanced) and the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Model (CJR).

Accreditation

Live webinar participants will receive an email upon program approval for Minnesota and Iowa Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) credits through the Compliance Certification Board (CCB)® (typically three or four weeks following the webinar). Please contact Greta Larson at glarson@fredlaw.com if you are an attorney licensed in another state and would like information about obtaining CLE accreditation.
