Overview

When medical professionals other than a physician see a patient, either alone or in combination with a physician, there are a variety of ways in which the service may be billed. The options can be overwhelming. Even the phrase “incident to” is confusing.

This webinar will offer an easy-to-understand explanation of the CMS policies related to “incident to” billing and shared visits. It will also explain why the widespread belief that you can’t use “incident to” billing when the patient has a “new problem” is wrong. We will also discuss key policies related to independent billing by medical professionals.

Accreditation

We have applied for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credit for this program in Iowa and Minnesota. Please contact Greta Larson at glarson@fredlaw.com if you are an attorney licensed in another state and would like information about obtaining CLE accreditation. We have also applied for Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA) credits. Webinar participants will be notified of accreditation upon program approval of CLE and HCCA credits (typically three or four weeks following the webinar).
