Presenters:

Program Description:

As businesses shutter due to the COVID-19 pandemic, property owners are saddled with the burden of paying property taxes on vacant properties. Taxes that were already high have become economically impossible to pay or recover from tenants. Property taxes are one of the largest fixed expenses on the balance sheet. With this in mind, many property owners are evaluating whether it makes sense to appeal the taxes on their commercial, industrial or multi-family buildings. This webinar provides participants with the knowledge they need to evaluate whether a property tax appeal makes sense for their properties.

After this webinar, listeners will be able to:

  • Understand how property is valued for property tax purposes.
  • Identify critical Minnesota requirements for filing an appeal.
  • Evaluate whether a property is a good candidate for a successful property tax appeal.
