Intellectual Property Attorney Alex Munro Joins Fredrikson

Attorney Alex R. Munro has joined Fredrikson’s Intellectual Property, Patents and Trade Secrets groups in the firm’s Des Moines office. Munro helps companies and universities protect new technologies through patent prosecution, portfolio strategy and competitive patent analyses in industries including biotech, medical devices and agriculture.

Munro works closely with clients to understand their inventions, business goals and patent needs. She manages patent portfolios and drafts and prosecutes U.S. and international patent applications across a range of technologies. She also conducts patent searches, evaluates patentability, validity, freedom-to-operate and infringement issues, and advises emerging and established clients on prosecution strategy, portfolio management and competitive patent analyses.

Munro advises clients working with technologies across biotechnology, life sciences, agriculture, medical devices, software and applied systems. She helps clients address patent needs that arise during product development and commercialization, including work involving gene therapy and genetic engineering technologies, bioreactors and other biotechnology innovations.
