Overview

Danny provides clients with comprehensive legal guidance to help navigate the increasingly complex landscape of federal, state and local employment laws.

Danny focuses his practice on a broad range of labor and employment law matters, with a specific emphasis on wage and hour advice and litigation. He regularly defends employers against single-plaintiff, class and collective actions before state and federal courts, administrative agencies and arbitration panels involving claims such as:

  • Wage and hour violations
  • Discrimination, harassment and retaliation
  • Whistleblower actions
  • Leaves and accommodations

Danny also works closely with employers to ensure compliance with specific areas related to employee compensation, including:

  • Minimum wage
  • Overtime compensation
  • Incentive compensation plans
  • Remote worker compensation

In addition to his litigation and counseling work, Danny regularly speaks on employment law compliance topics. He presents to legal and HR audiences on a wide range of issues, including wage and hour compliance, emerging employment law trends and practical strategies for minimizing legal risk in the workplace.

Danny also maintains a separate Federal Indian Law practice. He advises tribal governments and tribally owned businesses on a range of matters, including employment issues, jurisdictional questions, gaming regulations and matters involving tribal sovereignty. He is committed to supporting the self-determination and governance of Native nations through responsive and culturally informed legal counsel.

Prior to joining Fredrikson, Danny practiced labor and employment law at an AmLaw 100 firm and also worked at a boutique law firm specializing in the representation of tribes and tribally owned businesses, where he deepened his experience in Federal Indian Law. After receiving his J.D., he served as a judicial clerk for two years at the Kentucky Supreme Court.
